Bill Ransom is married with an adult daughter and son-in-law, teenage stepdaughter and three grandchildren.

He writes and splits his home between western Washington and southern Utah, where his wife teaches. During the academic year he is a Member of the Faculty of The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington.
