Frank Herbert's first published novel was the famous Dune, first book in the Dune series. Serialised by John Campbell in Analog magazine, it quickly became a cult classic.

Frank Herbert wrote a number of other novels aside from the six that make up his Dune series, collaborating with his sons and with Bill Ransom. Brian Herbert, working with Kevin J. Anderson, has continued to expand the Dune series since since his father's death.
